This Epi Smooth review is of course not from a female but I did get some help with this, even if I could’ve done it myself.
Being that this is a product for women, I figured that my man hair wouldn’t be the best specimen for this experiment and decided to bring in some woman hairs.
Regardless of who we use, we all have a common problem with hair removal and we always get confused about which method is best to remove hair from our skin.
With the many methods available on the market we are all probably confused as to which one “works best”.
Some want the closest shave possible, while others want that hair gone.
If not gone completely, at least gone for a couple of weeks.
Will Epi Smooth live up to the hype?
With the crazy infomercials that come with every As Seen on TV product, you might want to watch this video to see if it is just some hype or something that actually works.
Epilators are a thing and they are not razors, shavers, or anything like that.
They look like an electric razor but instead of cutting the hair off it actually pulls it out.
So if you’ve never used one before and just so happened to get eaten up by the Epi Smooth infomercial then at the very least, that is what you need to understand.
Most epilators will leave you with a little pain and they are usually on the higher end of the price scale.
Now with Epi Smooth, you will not be spending more than $20, so we shall see if this at the very least does the job of yanking hair out.
General Product Overview
Epi Smooth is as basic as a product gets.
There is not a selection of colors, it only comes in blue.
There are no high or low settings, it just turns on and off.
It can only be used dry and can’t be used in the shower.
Unlike other epilators that have multiple rows of blades, this has only one row to remove hair, which is good and bad depending on which area you would be using it on.
It can be good if you are doing some tight work so you do not epilate areas you do not want to and it is bad if you are using it in the leg area because it is going to take a lot of time.
Some other epilators usually have four or more strips so they grab hair fairly quickly.
What You Get
Basically, you get the Epi Smooth, a little cleaner brush that most epilators come with and that is about it unless you get one of those deals that give you that hair towel for buying two.
The brush is an awesome inclusion and I would encourage you not to lose them as it is very much needed.
It also comes with instructions but you will NEED to get the two double a batteries yourself.
How Epi Smooth Works
Epilation is also one of the best methods to remove hair from the skin, as this helps in removing hair permanently with very less hair regrowth, but it does takes a little bit of time.
Epilation is just like a plucker which plucks out hair and it is a little expensive.
This is a painless method as it can be done easily and it doesn’t make your skin darker like other methods do.
Epilation devices cost more but remove multiple hairs at once and results can last from three to eight weeks.
If you have sensitive skin, Epi Smooth and other epilators might not be the right product for you, so please be careful while using this method.
If you are looking for a painless way to remove hair from your face, upper lip, underarms, and bikini line, the Epi Smooth epilator is one of the many ways to do just that.
How to Use the Epi Smooth Epilator
To use Epi Smooth all you do is use it like you would with an electric razor.
You just hold it at a 90-degree angle and you move it along your skin.
At least that’s what you’re supposed to do but it does require a little more than just “moving along” your skin.
You are supposed to use it for hairs that are no longer than about a centimeter which is about 4 inches, and it takes about 30 seconds to treat any individual area but once you have treated it, when you use an epilator that hair won’t grow back, ideally for a couple of weeks.
Note, your skin may become a little red and irritated the first few times you use the epilator but this is normal and will quickly disappear as you use it more often.
Your skin would get used to the epilation, skin irritation would decrease and regrowth becomes thinner and softer.
If the irritation has not disappeared within three days we advise you to consult a doctor.
What I Liked
For those with very sensitive skins or an acne prone skin, the Epi Smooth epilator doesn’t hurt as much as other epilators because you are pulling out like a couple of hair at a time as opposed to some other epilators which pull out 20 or more hairs at a time.
It is safe for all skin types and tones and it is easy to use and clean.
It makes the removal of facial hair less painful as it is gentle on the skin and there is no irritation and hair regrowth usually takes weeks.
It is compact and discreet as it has a slimline design which can easily fit into your purse or pocket allowing you to easily carry it around and be able to use it on the go.
It gives you a flawless look by eliminating any peach fuzz on your face. Now you do not have to shy away from bright lights anymore.
It is inexpensive and saves you constant visits to the beauty salon. It is safe for all skin types and you do not have to worry about the pain of waxing and threading ever again.
The best thing I liked about Epi Smooth is the fact that is is freakin $10!
For that price, I don’t think anyone can complain.
What I Didn’t Like
It seems to me like Epi Smooth with only one tweezer row is going to take a lot longer than other epilators that have a whole row of rotating tweezers so it is going to be a really slow process.
On the other hand, if you want to get into epilators and only want to spend ten bucks, I guess this could be a viable option.
Just be prepared to spend a lot more time than you would with other products like this, so if you’re impatient like me, this is not the product for you.
I have also heard complaints from others about having to buy two Epi Smooth products and not having the option to get just one.
Epi Smooth is what it is.
An As Seen on TV product that comes with a lot of hype but doesn’t do the best job out there.
It is designed for quick sale and is of course not going to be your best bet when it comes to epilators and hair removal, especially with the thousands of different products out there.
Now for $10, you can look at it in two different ways.
One, you can go with the whole “you get what you pay for” route and get it with hopes that it can meet your standards, or two, you can forget about it and invest into something that actually works.
Not your best product but it isn’t the worst.
Do you have any experience with this or know of something that will actually be better?
