Summer Infant Babble Band Review: To Wear or Not to Wear?

This is my Summer Infant Babble Band Review, where I will be debunking the feedback from the online world and writing down my findings in this article.

As you all would probably know, not all monitors are cut out to be as good as the companies claim them to be.

Well they aren’t always 100% accurate anyway.

But thanks to the power of the internet and online reviews, we can get a good idea on how a product performs.

This is my honest and unbiased opinion on the Summer Infant Babble Band, so I hope you enjoy it.

Summer Infant Babble Band Review – Specs

Product Name: Summer Infant Babble Band

summer infant babble band reviewWeight: 5 pounds

Product Overview

The babble band’s sole purpose was to have the capability of being worn as you move around the house, giving you peace of mind that your baby is sound asleep while you can properly relax.

It is also the first wearable monitor out on the market!

It’s been created to fit both genders comfortably, while having an easy-to-attach, adjustable clasp.

There are 3 modes on the babble band. These are: Audio mode – So you can hear your baby, Vibration mode – So you can feel it go off in case you’re in a loud area (when the families around :P), and Sound light mode – where it will provide a visual cue when there is noise coming from the nursery, the audio is turned off in this case.

The Summer Infant Babble Band has won 2 awards already. I can also see that there is a rechargeable battery, which is included in the purchase.

This has its own private and secure connection so you don’t have to worry about interference’s or interruptions, while the range can go up to 800 feet.

There is a bunch of other little features available on the Summer Infant Babble Band too.

What Ultimate Benefits Does This Product Provide?

A huge benefit that many parents will find to be highly useful, is the hands-free function. Wrap it around your wrist and do your chores around the house without having to check up on your baby every 30 minutes.

With 3 different modes to go with it, I find that the vibration feature will come in handy when the rowdy family comes over to visit.

Pricing & Purchase Details

You can now get this product from Amazon.com. While the price varies between $30 and $60, which is why it’s recommended to check the current price first.

This will include a 30 day return policy, so you can return it for a full refund if you find it wasn’t up to your expectations, or simply send it back for a repair if you find any faults or defects in the product.

Who This Monitor Is For

summer-infant-babble-bandI would say that this product works amazingly for parents who are always on the move and can’t seem to catch a break.

While any parent who wants something that’s simplified and known to get the job done will find this to benefit them as well.

I also find that the more paranoid parents who want something to give them a peace of mind is going to gain a lot of benefit from this product, especially because it’ll be less stressful.

Pros and Cons

  • This product has won 2 awards and been the first monitor to have the ability of attaching to the wrist – both male and female
  • The 3 activation modes was something that I liked too, with Audio, Vibration, and Visual cues, you can’t go wrong in any social situation
  • I also like how it has its own private connection so there’s no need to worry about interference’s arising
  • It is visually appealing, while being small it doesn’t take up much counter space either
  • The wrist unit also includes a rechargeable battery, for ultimate convenience of course, because as you may or may not know, batteries are like the candy of baby products!

  • Doesn’t even come close to the range that has been advertised, with a lot of people complaining about it doing less than 100 feet
  • The battery life doesn’t last that long either (roughly 5 hours). It can only be charged on the baby unit, when it would be better if it could be charged on a docking station next to your OWN bed
  • A lot of men having trouble fitting this band on their wrists, even for ones that don’t have big wrists at all

Do I Recommend This Product?

It is a great concept and all, but I wouldn’t personally use it.

I also would not recommend for anyone else to use it.

It is cheaply made, while there are just so many complaints – especially for a product with this much purchases.

When you find a product with minimal purchases, it should have at least a 4.2 star average rating, this one is nowhere near that.

I really wanted to like this product, but it just doesn’t cut the butter.

The Summer Infant Babble Band is NOT recommended!

Alternative Monitor

There a much better baby monitor on the market, it can go a lot further than 100 feet and won’t cut out through the walls of your house (a lot of people complaining about this happening).

It has also won an award for being the best baby monitor of its kind and it’s what I recommend for you to use instead of the Summer Infant Babble Band.

Check out my review of the Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor!

My Final Opinion

Even though it is truly a one-of-a-kind baby monitor, it just doesn’t stand up to everyone’s expectations and I have no idea how it has won 2 awards to be honest.

In my honest opinion, I think because the price is so low, they haven’t gone the extra mile to ensure it will exceed everyone’s expectations.

For all the reasons I have mentioned in this review, and because there is so much better alternatives, I would say this product is on the do not buy list.

You can still see it on Amazon.com and get it for less than $35 if you just want to see for yourself.

Otherwise, I’d rather you read my full review on the Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor!
