Becoming a dad has been one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to me. It just so happens that I have been blessed with 3 boys and it has definitely changed my life for the better.
The thing about life is that we are all different and some of us take things differently than others. Here is what having a child has done for me as a person.
Let me just tell you that I was once a big time party animal and all that has changed. For the better of course.
I am not going to complain and I am not going to tell you how much I miss getting drunk with my friends, because they still come over to my place and I am still allowed to drink every now and then.
If there’s one thing that having a child did, it would be setting me on the right path. No more trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, but doing something and making it happen.
Did I mention that I am a full-time work from home dad? Well that’s exactly what I do, and I couldn’t ask for a better “job”.
Let’s just say that I had to change almost immediately. I had to stop a lot of things that weren’t so “father like” and it was almost like I didn’t have a choice.
I used to smoke and literally quit cold turkey on the same day my first child was born. I guess you can say that I was more of a social smoker and I didn’t have an addiction to nicotine, so that is a good thing I’m guessing?
For some people, changing is something they can’t accept, but that is kind of normal I’m guessing. Although parenting may not come naturally to most parents, hopefully the content on this site can help you grow not only as a parent, but also as a person.
I thought getting deployed twice was life changing, but becoming a dad is at a whole different level and experience.
I can say that I absolutely love being a father. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing my kids call me dad although I know they will soon outgrow the whole “daddy” thing.
Watching my kids grow has done a lot for my life not only physically, but also mentally. I have more focus on my goals now and I have accomplished a lot more, now that I am a father.
From learning how to change a diaper, to watching their personalities change as the days go by. I am just sitting out on my lawn, typing this article, watching my boys go back and forth with their little conversation and I can say that is what pushes me to do what I do.
Having a child has helped me with my financial state a whole lot too. I went from an active duty soldier, working a civil service job, and going to college, to being a full-time stay at home dad.
I mean come on, who gets paid to talk about how wonderful it is to be a father? I do! If you want to learn more on how all this was possible, you can take a look at my money maker, which is aworkathomejobs.com.
If it wasn’t for the fine folks at Wealthy Affiliate, none of this would be possible. And if it wasn’t for my kids, I would’ve never found the opportunity to make money online, from home, without doing any type of MLM recruiting nonsense.
This is the first post for askdads.com and it definitely won’t be the last. I hope to share and learn different experience with all you fathers (and mothers) so don’t be afraid to share.
I look forward to hearing your stories as well as giving the best advice any dad can get. Cheers!
