Finding the best diaper is simple IF you have changed a couple hundred of them in your life.
Now, if you are new to this whole parenting thing, it’s probably harder than it seems.
So how do you figure out such a thing?
It’s easy.
We show you.
All diapers are different, and I’m sure every other parent that has changed and dealt with diapers can agree.
One is excellent at stopping leaks but costs you an arm and a leg.
Another is beyond affordable but can’t hold crap.
Literally.
Depending on what you prefer, you will find that pack of diapers that suits YOU best.
I’m no diaper king, but I’m a very practical parent that does things in the most efficient ways possible.
Just like how I change a diaper, I’m not one to follow some structured beliefs.
I do things and buy things just like a regular old parent would, but in the most practical way possible.
Now with the many options available to us, I want to give you the best diapers in their perspective categories.
We all like different things and have different wants and needs, so of course, our final decisions will also be altered.
Whatever the case (of diapers), maybe, I’m sure this list will be of great help for you.
With four kids and lots of trial and error, I think I have the experience that most parents can’t provide.
So What Are the Best Diapers?
This is one question that can only be answered by one person.
That person is you, the person who will be doing the changing and choosing of diapers.
With such a task comes the kids that will be using these diapers, and even they are a huge factor in your decision-making skills.
These kids are all different, and they all require different needs.
Some take a dump all the time and others not so much.
Some kids are sensitive, and others can use any diaper and be okay with it.
And as parents, some of us are willing to spend a good chunk of change on diapers while others aren’t even able to decide thanks to their budget.
Whatever the case may be, you will find the best diapers within this post.
Do remember that we all have our idea of what’s best, so feel free to disagree if you know of something that you think works better.
Best Overall Diapers – Pampers Swaddlers
We had to give this to Pampers for their Swaddlers disposable diapers.
They are not going to break the bank, and these diapers are really, really good.
I have not tried them on myself, but judging by the way they feel and how the baby acts, they sure do seem like one comfortable diaper.
To touch, it feels almost as if it were cloth.
This cloth-like diaper also makes cleaning the baby a lot easier.
They soak up waste like a sponge and have a subtle elastic strap that stretches for ultimate comfort for the baby.
With a wetness indicator to go with the package, this takes our #1 spot for the overall best diaper.
Best Diapers For Your Wallet – Luvs Ultra Leakguards
As new parents, most of us aren’t as lucky.
We don’t have grandma and grandpa there to watch the kids, and we don’t have anyone to help in the financial department either.
Without such help, this requires lots of budgeting and understanding of pricing versus quality.
Within the diaper section comes the confusion of what is cheaper and what is worth the investment.
I can tell you that just because a diaper is the cheapest does not mean it is the best diaper to get.
It’s quite the opposite.
With cheap diapers come the mess and lack of functionality, which I’m not a huge fan of.
This cheapness leads to frustration and more money coming out of your wallet.
To save you the headache and money, we have concluded that LUVS is the best when it comes to the overall budget-friendly diaper.
They are affordable and do one heck of a job.
Compare the price to others, and you will see that there is a big difference in price.
Don’t let the price fool you, though, as these diapers are not that bad.
I used them for most of my kids, and I have zero complaints.
Best Diapers For Newborns – Honest Company
I think all of our kids started with Huggies, but that’s because the hospital we went to, provided them.
We stuck with it for our first kid as we felt it was the best but eventually thought for ourselves and ventured off and tried other diapers.
Fast forward to our last baby, and we got introduced to Honest Company’s diapers.
We chose these diapers as the best for newborns because of their excellent rose blossom print.
Okay, not really.
We chose them because of their hypoallergenic and “smart ingredient” factors.
As a parent of a baby that had eczema, we were in search of a diaper that was as natural as natural can be, and that’s what drifted us towards Honest.
As a parent of any kind of child, these diapers are best for preventing baby rash.
They have that feature plus the same absorbent and comfort levels as the other top brand diaper companies.
So for these reasons, we pick the Honest Company for having the best diapers for newborns.
Best Diapers For Toddlers – Huggies Little Movers
The toddler phase of babies is one part of their life that does require the best diaper.
With all the constant moving and falling on their butts, you need a diaper to withstand that craziness.
With such a task that needs all the best features, we think that Huggies Movers is the best diaper for toddlers.
When you think of absorbing and diapers, Huggies Little Movers is what comes to mind.
The second baby goes; it gets absorbed right into the diaper.
Have them flop on their behind, and nothing will come out.
This diaper also moves with the baby, so it works great at preventing rash from the rubbing that occurs with regular old diapers.
For toddlers, Huggies Little Movers wins our choice for the best diaper when it comes to toddlers.
Best Overnight Diapers – Honest Overnights
I’m sure most parents don’t have a diaper specifically for sleepy time, and I am not a huge fan of lazy parents either.
Wake up and change your baby’s diaper parents!
You are not going to be a better parent by getting the best overnight diaper so that you can sleep all night.
No, that’s not how it works.
But I digress.
We still need a diaper that can do the job when everyone’s asleep as we are all bound to sleep while the baby does their thing.
Heck, sometimes they even go right after you lay them down, and you won’t even know it.
Being that we are far from perfect parents, we need a diaper that can make up for what we lack.
For the best overnight diaper, we think that Honest Company’s Overnight diapers are the best.
There are several others that we do like, but with its natural approach and ultra-absorbent diapers, this is what we pick and recommend.
Best Diapers For Potty Training – Pull-Ups
I’m not even going to tell you the brand of this diaper as there is only one real “pull-up” diaper out there.
When you hear of pull-ups and diapers, there is only one that comes to mind.
The same one that we all know as the household brand that Huggies created.
Call me old school, but I still think that pull-ups are the best potty training diaper around.
Who knows, it might just be the characters and fresh prints they have, but they do a great job at doing what they do.
Potty training.
Personally, pull-ups and other potty training diapers are not my friends.
I’ve tried and used many, but they didn’t work well with any of my kids.
They went like they usually do and never really told me they had to go.
This made for a big mess and complicating things even more.
I do potty training a lot differently, but I will save that for another post.
Do any of you share the same experience, or is it just me?
But if I did have to choose a potty training diaper, Huggies Pull-ups will be the one I want.
They might not be a great diaper all around, but we like to be traditional at times.
Also, consider the fact that Pull-Ups have been around since 1989.
Best Disposable Swimming Diaper
I think the swimming diapers are fantastic.
I’m sure we’ve all experienced letting a baby swim with a regular old diaper just to find out how much a diaper can handle.
That thing gets bigger than you can imagine and it does soak up a whole lot as well.
Now, did you know that there’s a way to prevent this, all while having a baby enjoy the water like everyone else?
It’s called swimming diapers.
This is very important for those of you who like water a lot.
And for this, we think the Huggies Light Swimmers is best.
They don’t seem like a diaper and it does not swell up like others I’ve seen.
The best part is that it might not swell, but it will hold all of the baby’s waste like it is supposed to do in the first place.
This is not the case with all swimming diapers, and that’s why Huggies Light Swimmers are the best diapers in this department.
Best Reusable Swimming Diaper
Now, this is what I prefer when dealing with diapers and swimming.
I like to look at swimming diapers as a bathing suit for babies.
For that reason, I don’t like the idea of having to buy disposable diapers when going for a swim.
Now for this diaper, we think the Bumis Swimmi works great thanks to its velcro straps.
It works even better for waste and water and is easy to clean.
The best part about this diaper is that it costs less than $10 and comes in some cool patterns.
These are the best diapers for swimming if you aren’t into disposables.
Best Diapers For Extreme Budgeting
Sometimes the best budget diaper is just not cheap enough for some parents.
Even if our Luvs diapers are reasonably priced and still have quality, there is always a list of even cheaper diapers.
They might not do the best of jobs, but they will work with those of you who can’t afford the fancy stuff.
For this, we think that the Amazon brand diapers are best.
Their Mama Bear diapers are priced at under $10 for a pack and come with around 40 diapers.
They aren’t the best diapers out there, but they are affordable and can work.
How We Picked the Best Diapers
It didn’t take much, and I’m sure the winners in their perspective categories son because of that specific reason.
Now we did put several factors into consideration when making our final decision, and it usually with the more practical ways of life.
These same reasons go with our thoughts on changing a diaper, and it goes into our overall thoughts on parenting.
Rather than being unrealistic and going for something not so familiar, we went with the most popular brands from today.
Along with that, we also considered the following.
Quality
Quality is our best policy.
Even our most budget-friendly diaper comes with some high quality, and that’s just how we roll.
There’s no point in getting a pack of 100 diapers that costs $10 if it can’t even get the job done.
And believe me, I’ve tried changing a diaper that had the flaps come off without me doing much.
Whether it be swimming, training, or overall diaper use, the items on this list all provide some fantastic quality.
They won’t fall off while the baby’s on the go, and we are 100% sure that you will like them yourself.
Price
Diapers these days can get expensive.
However, that does not mean that they are the best.
Again, we took a very realistic approach while selecting these diapers, and being parent-friendly is our goal.
By parent, I mean the real deal parent that gets down to changing and not trying to break the bank for something as simple as a diaper.
These diapers were selected for affordability that compliments the quality that they provide.
And if you look at the average cost per diaper on Investopedia.com, you can see that they use a tiny number.
I mean, $.15 per diaper?
They do mention couponing, so maybe consider that if you want to save even more money.
You can also check out other ways to save money on diapers, as I’m sure you’ll want to save as much money as you possibly can.
Personal Use
There is just no way on Earth that we could give a proper best diapers post without trying them ourselves.
As a parent wanting the bests of the best, I tried and tested almost every single diaper out there.
Friends recommended some, and some we just used because everyone else is using them.
Now, rather than just saying that these diapers were awesome like they did, I always had to use them myself.
I don’t mean using them myself, but by purchasing and using them on our babies.
What was great for others just didn’t work out for us, and that’s okay.
At the very least, you know that the diapers we recommend were used by our children and ones that we prefer ourselves to.
Conclusion – Get the Best Diaper
Diapers are not the easiest thing to shop for, especially if you’ve never bought any in your life.
You don’t know what they’re like, and you probably don’t even know where to start.
Some of your friends might have given you their recommendations, but even they might have a limited selection.
Do remember that all kids are different, and sometimes what works for my kids will not work for yours.
Also, remember that our wallets are all different.
So go with what is going to be best for you.
Do not get a specific diaper brand so that you can go and show it off to your friends.
It’s not worth it, and it is not practical.
Your baby’s diaper won’t show half the time, so there’s no point in trying to impress others.
I hope this list of the best diapers has been of some kind of help to you.
